Wolf Habitat Renovation
March 24, 2024
The Foundation recently awarded a $60,000 grant to the Lake Area Zoological Society to modernize the wolf habitat at the Bramble Park Zoo.
More than 55,000 guests visit the zoo annually. The wolf habitat was constructed in 1989 and is out-of-date with current zoological standards.
As part of the $600,000 renovation, a large viewing window will be added to facilitate educating visitors on the myths and roles of wolves in our environment. Additionally, a pool will be added to improve the habitat for the animals, especially during the warm summer months. Finally, features like running water, heat, and added square footage will assist zookeepers with daily husbandry tasks.
The mission of the Lake Area Zoological Society is to promote and stimulate interests in the Bramble Park Zoo and support the zoo’s development and programs through fundraising, marketing, and other initiatives designed to enhance the zoo experience.
