WACF Youth Council Senior Spotlight: Isabella Horning

April 3, 2025

The Watertown Area Community Foundation is excited to shine a spotlight on Isabella Horning, a dedicated senior member of the WACF Youth Council. From the start, Isabella joined the Youth Council with a heart for giving back, excited to find new ways to help her community. Little did she know just how many opportunities she would find!

One of Isabella’s favorite parts of being on the Youth Council has been learning about different nonprofit organizations and playing a role in supporting their work through grant funding. Along the way, she’s gained a valuable lesson: there are always more ways to make a difference.

Her time on the Youth Council has also changed the way she sees community service. Now, she’s always on the lookout for new ways to get involved and help those around her. Her advice to younger students? Jump in and take the opportunity to join—it’s an experience you won’t regret!

As Isabella looks ahead, she’s preparing to attend Creighton University, where she’ll study biology on the pre-dental track. But her passion for service won’t stop there—she already has plans to get involved in Omaha by volunteering with Special Olympics.

We are so proud of Isabella and all she’s done to make a difference for youth in Watertown. We know she’ll continue to bring her leadership and kindness wherever she goes. Congratulations, Isabella!
