Local Roots: Glacial Lakes Multicultural Center

The Glacial Lakes Multicultural Center is the featured local nonprofit for September.

The Glacial Lakes Multicultural Center in Watertown has proven to be an essential resource for newcomers and local services, alike. With the mission to “Welcome the Stranger,” the center offers a range of key services to help individuals and families from around the world integrate into our community.

These services include Translation and Interpretation to bridge language barriers, Workforce Fulfillment to connect people with jobs, Advocacy to ensure rights and access to resources, Language Education to build communication skills, and Immigration Services to guide clients through complex legal processes.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Jim Schroll, the center works tirelessly to support and empower those who are new to the region.

Local Roots – Growing Awareness & Connecting Community was created by the Watertown Area Community Foundation and KXLG Radio. This program highlights a local nonprofit group each month with the mission to raise awareness and connect our community to the work of these critical organizations.
