Women & Giving

Help area women and children overcome barriers, increase their opportunities, and achieve their goals with a gift to the Women & Giving program at the Foundation.

Generous donors have allowed our Women & Giving Advisory Committee to award over $475,000 in grants and scholarships to local women and children since 2004.

A gift to Women & Giving can be acknowledged in your name or consider making a gift in honor or in memory of a special woman who has touched your life. Your gift not only shares your appreciation for all she has done but also allows her legacy to continue with all those who benefit from your gift.

Women & Giving Advisory Committee members include Sandy Albertsen, Jan Brooks, Chris Carter, Katherine Danforth, Susan Geyerman, Kathy Holmes, Nancy Linneman, and Julie Ranum.

Girls Rule: A Women & Giving Legacy

Women & Giving has fully funded the Girls Rule Program at the Bramble Park Zoo since it began 15 years ago. Each year, Girls Rule helps 30 at-risk girls learn about healthy relationships, gain leadership skills, and build self-confidence.

Endowing the Future

To honor the 20-year anniversary of Women & Giving, Laurie Benson, former Foundation Board Member and Women & Giving Advisory Committee Member designated a $20,000 gift to the Women & Giving Endowment Fund.

“The Women & Giving program has had a phenomenal impact in its first 20 years. More importantly, this program will continue giving back to future generations of area women and children as the emphasis was placed on building the endowment fund. What a legacy for the women of Watertown!”

-Laurie Benson, former WACF Board Member
