Welcome

Welcome to the Watertown Community Foundation.  In 1979 a group of civic leaders, looking ahead with a desire to provide a way for individuals to give back to their community, created the Watertown Comunity Foundation.  With the leadership and commitment of the founders and the Foundation board members and Trustees to follow, the Watertown Community Foundation has attracted thousands of caring donors and will continue to serve as a resource for the community for many years to come.

Community Foundations make up one of the fastest growing sectors of philanthropy in the United States today; they build and strengthen communities by making it possible for a wide range of donors to create permanent, named funds to meet critical needs in the Watertown community.

The Watertown Community Foundation is a 501 © (3) tax-exempt organization under the Internal Revenue code and a member of the Council on Foundations, Inc., Washington, D.C.  Contributions to the Foundation are fully deductible for federal income tax purposes.

The Watertown Community Foundation promotes philanthropy, receives and administers charitable gifts and invests in programs that improve the quality of life in Watertown by promoting charity, education and culture in the community.

Financial support for the development of this web site was provided by a grant from the Paul and Ann Sigelman Fund.

The Watertown Community Foundation is confirmed in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations.
